Zoe Keating at Yuri's Night
She's cool, just go see her :)
Zoe samples the sounds she can make with her one cello, up to 16 tracks I think, and controls the loops while playing over it. Forget the technical stuff, it sounds great. I realize now after reading her bio that when I first saw her perform years ago it must have been at her warehouse loft here in SF. What a space it was.
**From the site:** Simultaneously held in more than 25 countries and 80 locations worldwide, Yuri's Night celebrates humanity's first venture into space by Russian Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin and the first shuttle launch on the same day 20 years later. It's 8000 people in a 12 hr festival and symposium featuring participatory science, space-themed art and technology exhibits in the NASA hangar, live music and dance, discussions about science, technology and the future of our species.
