Drawing Space
a Public Open Space Project
55 Second Street, San Francisco, CA
(a lunchtime escape for downtown doodleful worker bees)
- Pen, pencil or drawing instrument
- Paper (I will have extras on hand)
- BYOL = Bring Your Own Lunch
- Any old item to draw as a still lifeĀ
This will be a bi-weekly event, every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month. You can invite yourself below.

See photos above for what the building and space looks like. The "open space" is in the little building behind the main building (see 4th picture above) on Stevenson alley (you can enter on 2nd street or the alley)
If you want to know more about public spaces in San Francisco, look at the Rebar group's COMMONspace project.
They have info about each space. Here's the details about 55 Second Street.
The weather is getting nice again, where we might start wandering to outside venues.

We had a photographer (no pictures) show up today. Alas we were not vast today, despite the upcoming and squidlist posts. Anyone recommend any artists lists?

We'd be happy you to have you kpilat :-) Today we had a friend of mine drop by hoping for some design help for a logo on his Gelato cart. Look for it (or the gelato at least) at the Hardly Strictly Blue Grass Festival in Golden Gate Park this weekend near the Rooster stage.

It was a small group of people who showed up for the 1st drawing space, on Tuesday August 7th. But it was great. I brought a bunch of crap from my desk to serve as a still life. Next meeting will be Tuesday, September 4, and it will become a bimonthly event.

Its going well. I have my regulars, and the occasionals. The event was mentioned at a syposium on public space last week too (by one of the rebar folk).
