Melody Debugging and Unit Testing Training Seminar
Join the Melody core development team: get trained on debugging and unit testing!

In our run-up to an official launch of a Melody 1.0 Beta, we have scheduled a day-long hackathon on January 20th devoted to improving Melody's unit test suite. Our goal: to get all unit tests to pass. When the board is green so to speak, we will be go-for-launch.
But how does one go about running unit tests? Then how does one go about fixing one? Not to mention, what the heck is a unit test? We realize that anyone who wants to participate on the core development team and in the hackathon will almost certainly have these questions.
So in preparation for the main event, join us for this hour long training session presented by our Chief Code Ranger, Jay Allen, in which he will present a brief presentation on unit testing in Perl, what they are good for, and how one goes about creating them. Then, join the throngs of onlookers and heckle Byrne Reese as he plays guinea pig while he embarks on putting Jay's sage advice to work and starts to fix unit tests in a live demonstration.
Attendees will learn:
* How do you setup a Melody development environment?
* What is a unit test?
* How do you create a unit case?
* How do you run unit tests?
* What is the proper way to submit a patch to Melody?
* How does one use git effectively to work on multiple features (or fixes!) at once?
Prior to the event, we will notify everyone with the dial-in and screen-sharing information.

So when do we get the info on how to log into this session? I never received an email for the last one. Just an email the day after the event saying that it had happened. I'd rather not miss this one.
